The spirit of 1Malaysia is closer to our hearts than we can ever imagine...
1Malaysia is at work here... Malaysians regardless of race do this everywhere... in their housing estate, by the river and longkang, outside other people's house, in vacant lands, beside the road.... They throw into the rivers, the sea, the jungles... And they do all the time, in secret and plain sight. And where you live also don't seem to make much difference... the city, kampung, new villages, suburbs... you name it. You see the rubbish everywhere! The oneness of all the different races is definitely in this.
And oh yes! They also burn... at random their rubbish, garden refuse, papers.... cos it's easy and convenient. Kampung folks do it, residents in the taman also do it, high position officials also condone it.... environmental hazards they are. Again we are very 'one' where this is concerned.
The spirit of 1Malaysia can also be seen in supermarket and hypermarkets.... Try going to the hypermarkets like TESCO... to their fruit section. You can see customers popping the fruits into the their mouths. By the way, signs are put up everywhere about "No Tasting"... but I've seen people 'tasting' repeatedly those fruits. Many of packets of fruits (especially the grapes) are noticeably lighter. All the races seem to think the same here.. no telling apart. Free food mentality! Lately, I notice TESCO has taken to packaging their grapes more securely. They must be losing lots of grapes to these 1Malaysia people! LOL!
1Malaysia, there's more than meets the eye. LOL! Politicians seem to be coming up with new catchphrases for political mileage when they are the ones responsible for the diviseness in the first place. The oneness is supposed to be inculcated in schools, yet we do the opposite. We make sure the kids understand that they are different and we segregate by race and religion. We don't teach oneness! We teach the kids to discriminate and then lament at the lack of oneness.... So this 1Malaysia, it's just another slogan, another catchphrase. Treat all anak Malaysia the same, help all anak Malaysia who need it without race in play..... that is 1Malaysia. Not some catchy, 'feel-good' phrase!
We should have been a bangsa Malaysia long time ago... yet we're not. We are still Melayu, Cina, India, orang Semenanjung, orang Sabah, orang Sarawak.... Cos for too long the politicians have been dividing us along racial and religious lines so that they can continue to rule... and they learned early too that corrupt politicians will not stand a chance if everyone is not busy worrying about their differences.... sad, isn't it? We've all been had... silly us for lapping it all up.
