Was reminded of the Taman Jubli Emas by The Star, Metro Section this morning. Opening ceremony was on 5th. And because it was a Tuesday night and tests were on, so didn't go. But we heard the fireworks at around midnight. So this morning, after breakfast, Lil Rainbow and I decided to drop by and see the place since the papers reported that there is a musical fountain at the park. Never know how long the musical fountain will remain working, you see. So, we thought we'd have look first. But when we arrived, these were the only things we could walk up to. They do have nice toilets, though. The skeptic in me wonders whether it will be well maintained. There is this building with some nice sofas in it. Probably a VIP waiting lounge or something like that.
And our hopes dashed by this foreboding gate. The park is still closed! Opening ceremony over but the park is still closed to the rakyat! The open park is by the side of this gated park but the trees are all still saplings. You've got to be crazy to walk the park without the shade of the trees. The place still looks pretty bare!
Lil Rainbow was disappointed as was the mom. Oh well! Maybe we'll come back again next Friday. BTW, there were also a couple of cars turning in...guess they were also trying their luck.
