Coming in at 6 ...Najib the Malaysian Premier

Today we got a new Premier - No 6 that is. Born of a 'first family', he has just created history for himself. He's son number one of Premier No 2 for Malayisa. His political career was built on this father's tailcoat. Voted in as MP at a tender age of 23, it was a record then... still is, I think. Product of the British education to a certain extent, the first part of his career was not so colourful. He was actually quite popular. But the later part looks like an episode from a serial drama of intrigue, murder and greed. He says he's not in... but rumour mills are working overtime.

6 is not an auspicious number in Cantonese. And No 6 comes in with big baggages and all kinds of allegations. True or not, only he and his truly inner circle knows. But some say he's probably one of the most unpopular PM to have ever ascended to this land's highest office.

But he's a seasoned politician and his first acts already tells. Release of 13 ISA detainees.... and lifting the ban for 2 publications. Window dressing some say. Moves surely to bolster the image of this gahmen. And he's using technology to his benefit too to start his days in the Premier's office. His 1Malaysia website is filling the people of what he is doing... visit to his mother and family after his inauguration. It might do the trick. People might see it as a glimmer of hope. We are after all short on memory... alleged corruption, kickbacks running into millions if not billions.

No 6 also comes in with a wifey who is not too popular. Just look around the cyber world and you'll see what I mean. So, here's to our new PM. Whither where will he steer us?
