Cycling in Singapore....
Bro 1 took Other Half and Son around on bicycles. He builds his own bikes from the parts that he gets from everywhere. So that makes his bikes unique in a way. He's really good with his hands. And we get to tumpang to use them. We've always been blessed that way. When he was into RC planes and helicopter, Son benefited also. Son has a huge RC plane hanging on the wall of his room. Anyway, they did almost 30km that morning, I think. Son did another 10km with Bro 1 one of the evenings when we took the kiddos to KFC. Other Half had aches the next day. But both Father and Son enjoyed going around with Bro. They went to parts of the city...
...and also to the East Coast where the beach is...a beach from reclaimed land. East Coast Park is a really nice recreational place.
At night...and other times, the younger kids would do this; play in the playground at the flats. Lots of them and nice ones too. The adults would watch on... On her own, my little girl would never even dream of doing this. But with the boys, it's rough and tumble time.
Bro 2 suggested that the whole family get together at East Coast Park for makan. We went early and sat around. We saw people skiing in a lake when we got there. Was wondering how come there were no roar of the jet skis. It's skiing via cable... quiet and consistent. The skier is pulled by cables, hence a quiet skiing experience. LOL! East Coast Park is a nice place.
Dinner was quite fun...lots of different types of food. And minus the flies and mozzies. Didn't get any mozzie bites while I was there. After dinner, we went down to the beach. The boys played with the water...they weren't supposed to get wet but guess what? They did...
That's Son with his the 2 little tykes. He's so much older than them. Last year, the little one called him Uncle. This year he's not so confused anymore. 8)
while Daughter built her sandcastle. The boys weren't interested. In the end, Bro 1 built the sand castle with her. He realized she was playing by herself and went to play with her. So, into the sunset we hung around... It was an interesting evening out. There were some street shows too. Other Half and I decided to walk back to the flat accompanied by Bro 2. I enjoyed the walk. It wasn't hot...the road does not seem to release so much heat like here; maybe cos they have so many green patches of grass and lots of trees. Took us about 40 minutes to walk back to the flat.
After we finished shopping, Bro 1 and sis-in-law took us for Teochew Porridge at Geylang. That was around 3 a.m. Other Half and I have not been out this 'late' for a long, long time. Sis was also with us. So the 5 of us talked some more, had our porridge and got home at around 4 a.m. What do I think of that experience? Once in a while we should do something like that. Sis-in-law tells us that both of them would sometimes cycle out to such places at such hours (when the kids are fast asleep) to eat and talk. I think it's sweet of them to make time for each other like this. As for the meal, it was quite good!
All in all it was a good trip. Time to touch base a little...get reconnected again, stuffs like that.
